Kate Armstrong controls everything in her kitchen and nothing outside it. Catherine Zeta-Jones plays the head chef at a high-end Manhattan restaurant in Scott Hicks's 2007 No Reservations, a woman so precise that she argues with food critics and sees a therapist mainly to talk about recipes. When her sister dies and she takes in her niece Zoe (Abigail Breslin), the control falls apart. Aaron Eckhart arrives as Nick, a loose, easygoing sous-chef who threatens Kate's authority and eventually wins her over. It's a remake of the 2001 German film Mostly Martha.
In the image, Zeta-Jones and Eckhart face each other in chef's whites by a kitchen door, and a watch is visible on her left wrist — light dial, steel case. In a professional kitchen, a watch is either a brave choice or a careless one, depending on how often it gets splashed with sauce. The watch hasn't been identified, but whatever it is, Kate Armstrong would have chosen it deliberately. She is not a woman who wears anything by accident.
