Candice Bergen's Sharon gets the busiest arc in Book Club: The Next Chapter, the sequel Bill Holderman wrote with Erin Simms and Focus Features released in May 2023. She is the retired judge of the four friends, she loses her cat just before the group revives a long-postponed trip to Italy as a bachelorette getaway, and on the trip she meets a man named Ousmane.

Her watch is identified in collector databases as a Cartier Pasha de Cartier, the round watch Gerald Genta designed for the brand, introduced in 1985 in 38 millimeters of yellow gold with its date window tucked between 4 and 5 o'clock, and recognizable since by the fluted cap over its crown. The identification deserves its caveat: no watch publication wrote about the film, no brand or press source ties Cartier to the production, and the naming traces to hobbyist watch databases and stops there.

The claim does have one corroborating neighbor. In the same film, Craig T. Nelson's Bruce wears a watch the camera catches clearly at a Tuscan driving range: a steel chronograph with a silvered dial, oversized Arabic numerals, and the Pasha's capped crown. Two Pashas in one ensemble comedy would be a coherent costume choice; whether it was a deliberate one, nothing on the record says. The film took 29.1 million dollars worldwide on a 20 million dollar budget and closes with two weddings, Vivian to Arthur and then Diane to Mitchell, with Sharon officiating both.
