Cliff Booth is the stuntman, not the movie star. That matters for the watch. In Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (2019), Leonardo DiCaprio plays Rick Dalton, a fading TV western actor, and Brad Pitt plays Booth, his driver and stunt double who lives in a trailer behind a drive-in theater. Tarantino set the film in Los Angeles in 1969, and Margot Robbie plays Sharon Tate. Pitt won the Best Supporting Actor Oscar for the role, largely on the strength of his ability to make doing nothing look interesting.
The Citizen Bullhead chronograph is the right watch for a stuntman in 1969. It has a gold-plated case, a gold dial with black subdials, and the top-mounted pushers that give the design its name. They sit above the dial like bull horns. The tachymeter ring is motorsport-inspired. Citizen made these as affordable chronographs for people who liked the look of a racing watch but were not buying Heuer. A stunt double would have picked one up at a counter, maybe on layaway.
The vintage Citizen is the least expensive watch you could put on this character. That is the point. Booth is not Rusty Ryan.
