Anna Kendrick plays Katherine McKay in 50/50, a young therapist treating Joseph Gordon-Levitt's character after his cancer diagnosis. She's nervous, inexperienced, and clearly too emotionally invested in her patient, which makes her more believable than a polished version of the role would have been. Jonathan Levine directed the 2011 film, based on screenwriter Will Reiser's actual experience with cancer.
Kendrick wears a small silver-cased watch with a white dial on a dark strap. It's the kind of practical, unflashy timepiece a graduate student in clinical psychology would own — someone more focused on getting through her third session of the day than accessorizing. The brand hasn't been identified, but the wardrobe choice works. Katherine is trying so hard to be professional that every small, human detail gives her away.
