Alison Brie wears a Pierre Miller

Annie Edison wears a small gold-tone watch in Community, the sort a person picks to look responsible. Community (2009 to 2015) is Dan Harmon's sitcom about a study group at Greendale, a barely accredited community college, and Alison Brie plays Annie, the over-achieving former pill addict whose need to control everything is both her superpower and her problem. She is the one taking notes while everyone else goofs off.

The watch is a Pierre Miller. It has a gold-tone case, a white dial with gold baton markers, and a white lizard-grain leather strap, and the only words on the face are QUARTZ and WATER RESISTANT under a small script logo. Pierre Miller is a fashion brand of the drugstore-rack sort, the kind that sells new for about twenty to thirty dollars and turns up used on eBay for less. It is exactly the watch a young woman who color-codes her binders buys to look organized.

Propstore, the memorabilia house, later sold the screen-used watch with a Certificate of Authenticity. By the lot's account Annie wore it throughout the series, and the catalog measured the piece to the half-inch and graded its condition Good, then described it in total as 'Watch. Leather, metal,' never naming the Pierre Miller printed on the dial. The most exacting character in the study group wore its least exacting watch, certified as real and left unnamed.
