Alain Delon wears an unidentified watch

Any Number Can Win (Melodie en sous-sol, 1963) is Henri Verneuil's heist film pairing an aging ex-convict, Charles (Jean Gabin), with a young accomplice, Francis Verlot (Alain Delon), on a plan to rob the Palm Beach casino in Cannes. Backstage among the dancers at 12:42 a.m., hiding from the crowd in his tuxedo, Francis checks his wristwatch as he waits. The shot is wide and the watch reads only as a dark-strapped piece on his wrist; in 1963 black and white, no maker is legible, so it stays unidentified. The frame is preserved as evidence.
