A homicide lieutenant in 1995 Los Angeles should not be wearing a Bulgari. Michael Mann directed Heat with obsessive attention to procedural detail. The armored car robbery was choreographed by a former SAS operator. But Vincent Hanna's wardrobe operates on a different logic. Hanna is a cop who has burned through three marriages, snorts cocaine to stay awake on stakeouts, and delivers interrogation monologues at full volume.
