When the Expendables came back for a fourth film in September 2023, directed by Scott Waugh, the new blood included Curtis Jackson, 50 Cent, cast as Easy Day, a former Army Special Forces operator and the newest member of the team. He spends much of the film in a tactical vest with a rifle across his chest and a grey tool watch on his left wrist.
The watch is easy to trace because the maker keeps score. MTM, a tactical watchmaker based in Los Angeles, maintains a page logging its screen and celebrity placements, and Expend4bles earned two entries: 50 Cent flaunts a stunning MTM Special Ops Grey Air Stryk II, the page says, and Randy Couture showcases the Sherman 3-GER. The Air Stryk II is 45 millimeters of grade 2 titanium, an analog-digital hybrid whose displays handle dual time zones, a stopwatch, a countdown timer, an alarm, and a digital compass beneath luminous hands. MTM calls it an operational tool built for those who lead, protect, and explore without limits, and calls its watches generally the accessory of choice for movie stars and celebrities.
The franchise's wrist hierarchy survived the cast turnover: Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, and Dolph Lundgren all wear Panerai Luminors in this film, while the MTM entries went to the newer recruits, 50 Cent and Randy Couture. Expend4bles itself grossed 51 million dollars worldwide against a 100 million dollar budget, a box-office bomb carrying the franchise's lowest audience grade.
