Yahya Abdul-Mateen II plays David Kane / Black Manta in James Wan's Aquaman (2018), the first Black Manta appearance in the DC film universe. The character is a high-tech pirate-turned-villain operating in mercenary mode, with Kane's father killed by Arthur Curry during a submarine raid that opens the second act. Kane's helmet is a special-effects engineering project; his wardrobe outside the helmet is ordinary streetwear.
The previous database entry attributed an "IWC Aquatimer Custom Prop" to this 2018 sighting, but that identification is mismatched: IWC's experimental engineering division (XPL) built the glowing red-LED Black Manta prop watch for the 2023 sequel, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, not the original 2018 film. IWC's own journal and multiple Tier 1 horology publications (Monochrome, Revolution Watch, aBlogtoWatch) document the collaboration as a 2023 release, with the consumer limited edition (IW379405 red, IW379406 blue) launched alongside the sequel.
What watch (if any) Yahya wore as Black Manta in the 2018 original has not been formally identified by any horology publication. The character spends most of the film either in the Black Manta helmet or in dialogue scenes where the wrist is not visible. This sighting sits at Possible until someone documents an actual on-screen wrist watch. The IWC sighting has been moved to its correct film (the 2023 sequel) as a separate FAW.
