Michihito Fujii's The Village opened in Japanese theaters on April 21, 2023 and reached Netflix worldwide that June, a Star Sands and Kadokawa production set in Kamon, a once-scenic mountain village that agreed, years back, to host a vast garbage disposal plant on the slope above its shrine. Ryusei Yokohama plays Yu Katayama, a young man pinned to the place by debt who works at the dump. Haru Kuroki plays Misaki, the childhood friend who comes back from Tokyo to a director's job at the facility company. Wataru Ichinose plays Toru Ohashi, who works at the facility too, bullies Yu, and circles Misaki. The reviews that traveled with the Netflix release read it as a film about bullying, depopulation, and whether rot is something a place inherits.

The watch is a thinner record than the village. Montres de Luxe identified a Hublot Big Bang on Ichinose's wrist and said nothing more: no variant, no metal, no scene. No other source has named it at all, and the dark party scene in the available image keeps his wrist unreadable. The brand at least is easy to place: founded in 1980 in Nyon, Hublot built its name on what it calls the Art of Fusion, and the Big Bang is its flagship line.

So the identification rests on one source's word, plausible and unchecked. The village is the better documented machine: a community that took the trash plant to save itself, and a man at the bottom of it yearning, as the Netflix synopsis puts it, to break free of the cruel fate tying him to those grounds.
