Véronique Jannot wears a Piaget Polo

On a cold street at dusk, Carine Ferrand leans into Antoine, her head against his shoulder, gold glinting at her wrist. In Jean-Claude Missiaen's Tir groupe (1982), released in English as Shot Pattern, Veronique Jannot plays Carine, who works in a luxury boutique and is involved with Antoine Beranger (Gerard Lanvin), a secondhand-clothes dealer at the Clignancourt flea market. One night, after he walks her to the station, three men attack and kill her on the train home to Enghien-les-Bains, and Antoine sets out to find them.

The watch on Carine's wrist has been called a Piaget Polo, the gold sports-luxury model Yves Piaget launched in 1979 with an integrated case and bracelet that flow into one ribbed gold surface. The date fits, since the Polo was the fashionable gold watch of the early 1980s. The frames are another matter. What catches the light reads as a gold chain-link bracelet rather than the Polo's distinctive gadroons, no case or dial is legible, and the only published identification is a single line on a French watch-news site that names the model without showing how it was reached. The Piaget Polo here is plausible but unconfirmed.
