Tom Cruise wears a Casio G-Shock

For Mission: Impossible III (2006), J.J. Abrams put a Casio G-Shock MTG-910 on Ethan Hunt's wrist, a metal-cased hybrid with analog hands over a small digital window, running on Casio's Tough Solar power and syncing to atomic clocks by radio. Casio leaned into the placement and released an official M:i:III limited edition based on the model, the MTG-910DJMS-2JF, with the film's logo engraved on the caseback and matching packaging.

Abrams built the film as a character piece inside an action movie. Hunt is engaged and trying to step back from fieldwork when Philip Seymour Hoffman's arms dealer pulls him back in. Through the chases and the double-crosses, the metal G-Shock stays on his wrist.
