The Vault of Horror (1973) is the Amicus anthology in which five men trapped in a basement recount their recurring nightmares. In the segment "Drawn and Quartered," Tom Baker, a year before he became Doctor Who, plays Moore, a painter who discovers that harming the portraits he makes harms the people they depict. He lays his watch on a desk and calmly tells the dealer who cheated him that he has two minutes to live. The watch is an Omega Chronostop, the brand's late-1960s single-button chronograph, here in steel with a grey dial. Setting it down to time a man's death is exactly the cold flourish the scene wants.
