Timothy Dalton wears a Rolex Submariner

The last Rolex. Licence to Kill is the final Bond film before Omega took over the franchise in 1995, and Dalton wears a Submariner Date ref. 16610, the updated model with sapphire crystal and caliber 3135 movement that Rolex had introduced in 1989. John Glen directed what would be Dalton's second and final Bond film, a revenge story where 007 goes rogue after a drug lord maims his friend Felix Leiter and murders Leiter's wife. The 16610 sits on Dalton's wrist without modification or gadgetry, a working dive watch on a man who has abandoned his government and is operating alone.

The ref. 16610 was a thoroughly modern Submariner, the first with crown guards, a sapphire crystal, and a unidirectional bezel. For the tanker-chase climax, a stunt double wore an older 5513, which was later authenticated and sold at auction. The 16610 stayed on Dalton's wrist for the dramatic scenes, where it reads as an appropriately serious watch for the most serious Bond since Connery.
