Thomas Jane wears a Rolex Day-Date

Thursday (1998) is Skip Woods's pulpy crime debut: Casey Wells (Thomas Jane), a reformed dealer turned mild-mannered Houston architect, has his ordinary Thursday hijacked when his old criminal life turns up at the door. By around seven that evening, after trying to wash blood out of his kitchen sink and make a flight, Casey checks his watch: a gold Rolex Day-Date, the President, with a textured linen dial, diamond hour markers, and a day wheel that reads THURSDAY. It is a flashy watch for a man pretending to be ordinary, and the prop's day window happens to match the film's title.
