30 jours max (2020) is a broad French cop comedy, and the watch on its hero's wrist is an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Chronograph. Tarek Boudali wrote it, directed it, and stars as Rayane, a timid, clumsy police officer who is wrongly told he has thirty days to live and decides to spend them taking reckless risks to prove himself.
The Royal Oak is a strange watch for a slapstick beat cop, and the identification is thin: it rests on a single watch-spotting writeup, which describes a rose-gold chronograph on a leather strap, with a gold watch visible on Boudali's wrist on screen. The Royal Oak itself is a landmark. Audemars Piguet introduced it in 1972 to a design by Gérald Genta, the first luxury sports watch made in stainless steel, with an octagonal bezel and eight exposed screws. Rayane's is a dressier version of that original, gold rather than steel and on leather rather than the famous integrated bracelet.
