In the early seasons of The Office, Michael Scott runs the Scranton branch of Dunder Mifflin convinced he is a comic genius and, as his mug announces, the world's greatest boss. Steve Carell plays him as a man who bought that mug for himself and means every word of it. Through those first seasons, the watch on his wrist is a Timex Perpetual Calendar, the reference collectors now hunt as the T2D611: a squared steel case, a black dial, an Indiglo light behind the glass.

It is a budget quartz, the sort of watch sold off a mall display and never thought about again. Michael, meanwhile, keeps a framed certificate on his office wall for a "Seyko," the name misspelled, a watch he wants the credit for owning and is never seen wearing. The cheap Timex is the one that actually circles his wrist, and it is built to need no date correction until the year 2100. Timex discontinued it in 2007.

The T2D611 is remembered for almost nothing except the fictional middle manager who wore it. When Carell left the show in 2011, he gave the cast Rolex watches. Kate Flannery, who played Meredith, says she still wears hers.
