Sarah Snook wears a Cartier Pasha

Between her Cartier Tanks and Panthères, Shiv Roy also turns up in a Pasha de Cartier in gold, the boldest of her Cartiers and the one that looks least like it is trying to stay quiet. Sarah Snook wears it in the third season, another entry in a run of Cartier that defines Shiv's wrist for most of the show.

The Pasha has the strangest backstory of the lot. Cartier launched it in 1985, with Gerald Genta involved in the design, and hung the whole thing on a legend: a 1930s special order from the Pasha of Marrakesh, who supposedly wanted a gold watch he could wear swimming. That water-resistance story is why the crown wears a little screwed-down cap on a chain, the detail that makes a Pasha unmistakable, and why the round dial hides a square minute track inside it. It was an icon of 1980s excess, and Cartier brought it back in 2020.

On Shiv the Pasha fits a specific mode, the version of her that is done being underestimated and wants a watch with some size to it. It is still Cartier, still on brand for a Roy daughter raised on the right labels, but it is the loudest Cartier she owns, worn in the seasons when she is pushing hardest to be taken as a serious contender for her father's chair.
