Sam Neill wears an Oris Big Crown

Sam Neill returns as paleontologist Alan Grant in Jurassic Park III (2001), now unable to fund his dig and dragged back to the islands under false pretenses. On his wrist is an Oris Big Crown BC3 Day-Date, reference 7500, an aviation-inspired mid-range Swiss automatic, the kind of watch an underfunded academic would actually own.

The identification comes from the film's close-ups, which show the case and lug profile, the day and date windows, and the curved 'Automatic' and '25 Jewels' text on the dial. Neill said he played this Grant gnarlier and more cynical, modelled on Lee Marvin in Point Blank, and the Oris fits: reliable, unpretentious, not trying to impress anyone.
