In True Blood, Ryan Kwanten plays Jason Stackhouse with a big dark watch riding on his wrist, the kind of blacked-out tactical slab that looks built for a battlefield. Jason is Sookie's older brother, a Bon Temps road-crew worker who later pins on a sheriff's deputy badge, running on charm and bad decisions in roughly equal measure. HBO's vampire series ran from 2008 to 2014 in a present-day Louisiana, so the watch raises none of the timeline problems a period role would.
MTM identifies it as its Camouflage Patriot and lists it on the brand's own media page, under Kwanten's name and the show, in among its movie placements. The Patriot is a quartz chronograph in a 44.5mm steel case, with a unidirectional dive bezel, a sapphire crystal, Super-LumiNova on the hands, and water resistance to 200 meters. The Camo version takes a desert-camouflage finish over black PVD, across the case and bracelet, with an orange accent on the dial.
By its own description, MTM builds its watches for action movie stars and adventure seekers. Jason Stackhouse is neither, a road-crew laborer turned small-town deputy whose biggest fights are with his own bad judgment, and the slab on his wrist is rated for 200 meters of water he will never once go near.
