Ryan Gosling wears an unidentified watch

A silver dress watch sits cleanly on Ryan Gosling's wrist as he takes a phone call in The Ides of March (2011). He plays Stephen Meyers, the junior campaign manager for a Democratic presidential candidate (George Clooney, who also directed and co-wrote the screenplay with Grant Heslov and Beau Willimon). Stephen is smart, ambitious, and idealistic in exactly the proportions that make someone easy to manipulate. Philip Seymour Hoffman plays his boss, Paul Giamatti plays the rival campaign's manager, and between them they dismantle Stephen's principles in about a week.

The watch — round, steel case, light dial, probably on a metal bracelet — is a deliberate choice for a young political operative. It reads as professional without being expensive enough to draw questions. Stephen isn't rich; he's talented.
