Russell Crowe wears a Shinola Runwell Chronograph

Unhinged was one of the first big films back in theaters after the 2020 shutdowns, opening in late August when most American cinemas were running at partial capacity. Derrick Borte directed, Carl Ellsworth wrote, and Russell Crowe plays a man the credits call only "Man" (his name, Tom Cooper, comes later), who turns a road-rage encounter with Rachel, played by Caren Pistorius, into a daylong rampage.

On Crowe's wrist is a Shinola Runwell Chronograph, the 47mm version. The identification is unusually solid: after a watch enthusiast guessed it online, Crowe himself confirmed it. Shinola is a Detroit brand, founded in 2011 and selling its first watches in 2013, assembling chronographs from imported Swiss parts in a city better known for cars. The Runwell is its flagship, a sturdy watch at a few hundred dollars rather than a few thousand.
