The mid-2010s saw several father-daughter tearjerkers, and Fathers and Daughters landed near the bottom of the pile critically. But Russell Crowe is better than the 28% Rotten Tomatoes score suggests. He plays Jake Davis, a Pulitzer-winning novelist who suffers a mental breakdown after a car accident kills his wife, and Gabriele Muccino's 2015 drama follows his fight to stay present for his five-year-old daughter while his health fails. The film cuts between Jake's story in the 1980s and his adult daughter Katie, played by Amanda Seyfried, dealing with her own inability to form relationships twenty-seven years later.
In the kitchen scenes with young Katie, played by Kylie Rogers, Crowe wears a dark-cased watch on his left wrist with what appears to be a metal bracelet. The brand hasn't been identified.
