Paolo Sorrentino set Youth (2015) in a Swiss alpine spa, where a retired composer played by Michael Caine and a filmmaker played by Harvey Keitel pass the days among the other guests. One of those guests is a fictionalized Diego Maradona, played by Roly Serrano: an enormous, aging man who drifts through the spa and, in one scene, juggles a tennis ball with his feet. Maradona is in the film for a personal reason. Sorrentino has said that as a teenager he stayed in Naples to watch Maradona play rather than travel with his parents, who died that weekend, and that the footballer effectively saved his life.
On the Maradona figure's left wrist is a Bulgari Diagono chronograph on a rubber strap, identified by the French site Montres-de-luxe. The choice is the costume department's, not a recreation: the real Maradona was a Hublot ambassador, famous for wearing two watches at once, one kept on Argentine time.
