Rolf Saxon wears a Poljot Chronograph

William Donloe is the analyst Ethan Hunt got exiled in 1996. When Hunt broke into the CIA's Langley vault in the first Mission: Impossible, Donloe took the fall, and IMF director Kittridge ordered him manning a radar tower in Alaska by the end of the day. The Final Reckoning (2025), Christopher McQuarrie's eighth and last entry, finds Rolf Saxon's Donloe still there nearly thirty years on, married to an Inuk woman named Tapeesa and holding submarine coordinates in his head that Hunt's team needs.

On his wrist is a round watch with a pale dial on a dark leather strap. Watch-spotters have called it a Soviet Poljot chronograph, the cal. 3133 from the First Moscow Watch Factory, but no watch publication has confirmed it and the stills do not resolve the dial clearly. If they are right, it is a quietly apt choice: Poljot means flight in Russian, the 3133 was a Soviet reworking of the Swiss Valjoux 7734, and an Eastern Bloc chronograph suits a man the agency mailed to Alaska and forgot.
