In a wood-panelled club room, a glass of brandy at his elbow, Otto Mostyn sits back in a leather armchair with a beaded bracelet at one wrist and a watch lost in the cuff of his navy suit. Roger Barclay plays Mostyn in Industry, one of the older, grander men who move above the graduate desk, the kind of establishment figure whose money is so settled it never has to announce itself.

Mostyn belongs to the world Industry's young bankers are scrambling toward, the panelled rooms and the inherited ease, where the loud watches of the trading floor would look like trying too hard. His own watch barely shows, tucked under a tailored sleeve and never turned to the light, so no maker can be read.

That reticence is the point. The show draws a hard line between the strivers who wear their wealth on the wrist and the old guard who would never dream of it, and Mostyn sits firmly on the quiet side, in a room where the most expensive thing present is the one you are not meant to notice.
