Robert Redford wears an unidentified watch

By 2004 Robert Redford had been famous for so long that casting him as a wealthy executive required no imagination. Pieter Jan Brugge directed The Clearing, a kidnapping thriller where Redford plays Wayne Hayes, a successful businessman taken from his driveway and marched into the woods by a disgruntled former employee played by Willem Dafoe. Helen Mirren plays his wife, left to deal with the FBI while her husband walks through the forest with a man who has nothing to lose.
