Robert Redford wears an unidentified watch

Louis Waters doesn't have anywhere to be. Robert Redford plays a retired widower in Ritesh Batra's 2017 Our Souls at Night, a man whose days consist of the garden, the porch, and not much else until his neighbor Addie Moore, played by Jane Fonda, knocks on his door and asks if he'd like to come over some evenings just to talk. It is a small proposition that changes both their lives, and Redford and Fonda — reuniting on screen for the first time since The Electric Horseman in 1979 — play it with the kind of ease that only comes from actors who have nothing left to prove.
