A wristwatch made of bones predates horology by roughly 300,000 years, but the prop department for Brian Levant's The Flintstones built one anyway. Rick Moranis wears it as Barney Rubble throughout the 1994 live-action adaptation, a painted resin piece linked with leather strings that reads as prehistoric craftsmanship on screen.
The bone watch is part of the film's broader commitment to translating Hanna-Barbera sight gags into physical props. Where the cartoon could suggest a stone-age watch with a quick drawing, the live-action version had to actually construct one. The result sits somewhere between jewelry and joke, an object that exists only because the world of Bedrock demands that every modern convenience have a prehistoric analog. Barney doesn't check the time on it. It's there because his wrist would look wrong without it.
