A.C.O.D. stands for Adult Children of Divorce, which is also the title of the fake academic study that launches the plot. Stuart Zicherman directed this 2013 ensemble comedy with Adam Scott as Carter, the adult son trying to keep his divorced parents from ruining his younger brother's wedding. Richard Jenkins and Catherine O'Hara play the parents. The supporting cast — Amy Poehler, Jessica Alba, Jane Lynch, Mary Elizabeth Winstead — is better than the material, which is a polite way of saying the film is forgettable.
Jenkins plays Hugh, the father, remarried to Poehler's character and still taking the bait every time his ex-wife needles him. He appears to wear a watch under his shirt cuff in the wedding scene, but it's not visible enough to identify. Jenkins has never been a flashy presence on screen, and Hugh — a man who can't stop relitigating a fifteen-year-old divorce — wouldn't wear anything that called attention to itself.
