Rashida Jones wears a Jaeger-LeCoultre Tonneau

The vintage Jaeger-LeCoultre in On the Rocks is a barrel-shaped watch on a worn leather strap, and it reaches Laura as a birthday present from her father. Bill Murray's Felix hands it to Rashida Jones's Laura and tells her he bought it after his first big sale; she knows the watch at once and says she always loved it. It is an old, patinated piece with an uncommon look, the kind of watch, as Hodinkee put it, that a child remembers on a parent's wrist.

The Jaeger-LeCoultre was a late substitution. Sofia Coppola first planned for Felix's gift to be an old Rolex, the Oyster Perpetual Date her own father, Francis Ford Coppola, had given her. Close to shooting they scrapped that watch, and the prop master David Schanker sourced a vintage tonneau-shaped Jaeger-LeCoultre instead, picked to suit Rashida Jones, and rented it himself for the production.
