Dieter Bravo stands in a red puffer jacket in front of a green screen, mouth wide open, hands raised, screaming at a monster that is not there. This is the joke of The Bubble, Judd Apatow's 2022 Netflix comedy about a film crew locked in a quarantine hotel trying to finish "Cliff Beasts 6," a dinosaur sequel nobody wants to make. Pedro Pascal plays Dieter, a serious actor new to the franchise who spends the shoot high, restless, and performing for an audience of no one.
On the wrist he is waving at the empty green is a dark watch: a round black case, a black dial lost to glare, a strap half-hidden under the jacket cuff. That is about all the screen gives up. No watch publication has identified it. The sites that track Pedro Pascal's watches have plenty to say about his Cartier Santos and the Casio he wore in Triple Frontier, but none of them mention this one, and the brand stays unknown.
Which is a fitting outcome for this movie. Almost everything around Dieter is fake, the trees, the creatures, the danger, all of it to be painted in after the shoot. The watch is one of the few real objects in the frame, and even it will not say what it is.
