What I find funny about this one is that Hamilton brags about it. On the brand's own Hollywood watch-spotting page, Paul Giamatti's character in Showtime's Billions, the U.S. Attorney Chuck Rhoades Jr., "relies on our Jazzmaster Viewmatic Auto throughout all five seasons." The product page says the same thing: featured in Billions, seasons one through five. The show premiered in 2016 and built itself around Rhoades prosecuting Wall Street, above all the hedge-fund billionaire Bobby Axelrod, played by Damian Lewis.

So here is the small joke. The watch Rhoades wears, a Hamilton Jazzmaster Viewmatic Auto, reference H32645555, is a 40mm dress watch in rose-gold-toned steel with a pale silver dial - an accessible Swiss-American piece you can buy off a shelf without a waitlist. The man who spends the show trying to take down billionaires wears the watch you can actually afford.
