Patrick Swayze wears a TAG Heuer 3000 Series

Rowdy Herrington directed Road House (1989): Patrick Swayze plays James Dalton, a bouncer with an NYU philosophy degree hired to clean up a rough bar in rural Missouri. Sam Elliott is the older cooler who mentored him, Ben Gazzara is the local boss who owns the town, and Kelly Lynch is the doctor who patches Dalton up between fights. Dalton's watch is a TAG Heuer 3000 Professional chronograph: a 38mm steel case with a rotating steel bezel, a gray dial carrying three sub-dials at 12, 9, and 6 o'clock and a date window at 3, on a steel bracelet. BAMF Style pins it as either the quartz reference 232.206 or the automatic 132.206.

The 3000 series arrived not long after the TAG Group bought Heuer in 1985. Edouard Heuer had founded the company in Saint-Imier, Switzerland, in 1860, and for 125 years the Heuer name meant chronographs and motorsport timing; the buyout, backed by the holding company Techniques d'Avant Garde, gave it fresh capital and a new name. The 3000 line was the accessible end of that identity, a Swiss sports watch a working professional could afford rather than a luxury statement.
