Chopard's L.U.C line is the part of the company that watch people take seriously, and most everyone else has never heard of. The public knows Chopard for jewelry, Happy Diamonds, and the red carpet at Cannes. L.U.C, named after the founder Louis-Ulysse Chopard, is the other Chopard: thin, technical, built on in-house movements from the company's own workshop in Fleurier. The XPS is its ultra-thin dress watch, around seven millimeters thick, wound by a micro-rotor.
For Charlie's Angels, Elizabeth Banks's 2019 reboot, Chopard came on as an official partner and made something specific for it: an 18-carat rose gold L.U.C XPS with a pair of wings engraved into the sapphire crystal, a nod to the Angels. Who wears it is the open question. Movie-prop sites put the rose gold XPS on Patrick Stewart's John Bosley, the agency's retiring elder, but Chopard's own announcement only credits the watch to the production, not to an actor, and it is not clearly visible in the film's stills.
