Drew Baylor has just cost his company $972 million. Cameron Crowe's 2005 film Elizabethtown opens with Orlando Bloom's shoe designer being fired over a failed product, then left by his girlfriend, played by Jessica Biel, then called home to Kentucky for his father's funeral. On the flight home he meets Claire Colburn, a talkative flight attendant played by Kirsten Dunst, who slowly coaxes him out of his tailspin. Susan Sarandon plays his mother, Alec Baldwin his former boss.

The watch Bloom wears, visible as Drew leans on a lakeside railing paging through a road map, is a Panerai Luminor 1950, the reference PAM00127 that collectors call the Fiddy, a faithful 47mm revival of the cushion-cased dive watches Panerai built for the Italian Navy in the 1950s. The watch publication Deployant reports that it was Bloom's own personal piece rather than a prop, which is how a watch like this ends up on a young actor in a small Cameron Crowe drama. Its crown-protecting lever bridge and broad black dial are clearly visible on his wrist.
