Jack Singer promised his dying mother he would never get married. That is the setup for Andrew Bergman's Honeymoon in Vegas (1992), and it only gets worse from there. Nicolas Cage plays Jack, a commitment-phobic New Yorker who finally takes his girlfriend Betsy to Vegas to elope, loses $65,000 in a rigged poker game to a professional gambler played by James Caan, and then has to watch Caan fly Betsy to Hawaii as payment for the debt. Anne Bancroft plays the guilt-inducing mother in a deathbed scene that haunts Cage for the rest of the film.
Cage sits at the poker table in a loud Hawaiian shirt, looking panicked even before the cards go bad. His watch is not visible in the available stills, and the brand has not been identified. The film ends with Cage skydiving into Las Vegas with a team of Elvis impersonators (34 of them, per the tagline), which is the kind of climax that only makes sense in an early-nineties comedy starring Nicolas Cage.
