Neil Crone wears a Seiko Alarm Chronograph

Eight strangers wake inside a maze of identical white rooms where time and space do not behave. Andrzej Sekula's Cube 2: Hypercube takes the trap of the original film and folds it into four dimensions, so that the same door can open onto a different moment depending on when you step through it. One of the eight is Jerry Whitehall, played by Neil Crone, an engineer who had worked on the structure's door panels and who grasps just enough of its physics to be frightened by it.

Early on, the prisoners find a wristwatch with no owner. Whitehall recognizes it at once. It is a Seiko, identical to the one already on his wrist, down to the engraving his wife had put on the back. He is looking at a copy of his own watch. The cube has reproduced it, and it does not stop at one: a few minutes later another prisoner, Simon Grady, is found with several of the same watch.

The watch itself is a Seiko ana-digi, an analog dial with baton markers and a small digital window below the hands, on a brushed steel bracelet. In the close shot where two of them are held side by side, the Seiko name sits plainly under twelve on each dial, which is what lets the identification stand. It is an ordinary watch, the kind sold by the thousand, and the only thing that ever set this one apart was the engraving on the back.
