The pink suit still has the blood on it, and Jackie refuses to change. Pablo Larrain's Jackie (2016) covers the days right after the assassination, with Natalie Portman as a widow both shattered by grief and intent on shaping how history would remember her husband. Noah Oppenheim's screenplay frames the story through an interview with a journalist (Billy Crudup); Peter Sarsgaard plays Bobby Kennedy, Greta Gerwig is Nancy Tuckerman, and John Hurt is the priest she confides in.
The watch on Portman's wrist is the real thing. Piaget lent the production the actual gold watch Jackie Kennedy owned: an 18-karat yellow-gold piece with an oval natural-jade dial ringed by diamonds and green tourmalines, on a woven gold "palace" bracelet. There is one wrinkle. The watch runs Piaget's 56P quartz movement, which did not exist in 1963, so the genuine article is, for the moment it appears on screen, a few years ahead of its own story.
