Taika Waititi directed Thor: Love and Thunder, the fourth Thor film and the sequel to Ragnarok. Natalie Portman returns as Jane Foster after sitting out Ragnarok entirely. In this film, Jane is dying of cancer and is chosen by Mjolnir to become the Mighty Thor. Chris Hemsworth plays Thor. Christian Bale plays Gorr the God Butcher. Russell Crowe plays Zeus. The film made $760 million but divided audiences who found it too comedic for its subject matter.
Jane Foster wears a Hamilton Jazzmaster Open Heart Lady Auto, a 36mm watch with a blue dial and an aperture that exposes the H-10 automatic movement. The open-heart design shows the balance wheel in motion. On a character who is a physicist studying the fundamental forces of the universe, a watch that lets you see its mechanism has a certain thematic logic. It is also a dress watch on a character who spends most of the film in armor, so it appears in the civilian scenes.
