Mila Kunis wears an unidentified watch

Mila Kunis plays Solara in The Book of Eli, a young woman stuck in a post-apocalyptic settlement who gets curious about a traveler carrying what might be the last Bible in America. Albert and Allen Hughes directed this 2010 film, set thirty years after nuclear war in a world where most books have been destroyed and few people can read. Kunis's Solara works at a bar controlled by the local warlord Carnegie, played by Gary Oldman, who desperately wants the book that Denzel Washington's Eli is protecting. Carnegie sends Solara to seduce Eli. It does not work, but it makes her curious enough to follow him when he leaves town. The film plays like a western mixed with questions about faith, and Solara becomes the character who might carry knowledge forward. Kunis makes the shift from sheltered girl to hardened survivor believable, and her scenes with Washington anchor the film emotionally. The Hughes brothers drain the color out of everything, all grays and browns, which makes the wasteland feel genuinely dead. Her watch has not been identified.
