Brahmin Bulls is a small Los Angeles indie, the first feature from Mahesh Pailoor, about Sid Sharma and his father Ashok, who arrives from India unannounced. Sid takes it for a reconciliation visit; it turns out Ashok has come to track down an old love. Sendhil Ramamurthy and Roshan Seth play the leads, with Mary Steenburgen, Justin Bartha and Michael Lerner in support.
Lerner plays David, and the watch on his wrist is logged as a Seiko SKX009. The SKX009 is one of the most beloved dive watches Seiko ever made: automatic, water-resistant to 200 meters, and fitted with the blue-and-red 'Pepsi' bezel it is known for. It cost a couple of hundred dollars new, part of why collectors took to it, and when Seiko quietly wound down the SKX line around 2019 the secondhand prices jumped.
The identification is a thin one. It comes from a French watch site and a watch-spotting aggregator rather than the brand or a major publication, and the film is obscure enough that no one else has weighed in. The Pepsi bezel points to the SKX009, the obvious candidate for a Seiko diver in those colors, but on this sourcing it is a credible read rather than a confirmed one.
