William Foster, D-Fens from his license plate, abandons his car in a Los Angeles traffic jam and walks across the city, and the day escalates from there. Michael Douglas plays the laid-off defense worker in Joel Schumacher's Falling Down (1993), in a short-sleeve shirt and tie, carrying a briefcase to a job that no longer exists.
The watch is a Lorus, the budget quartz brand owned by Seiko. The film gives it an extreme close-up, and the dial reads plainly: LORUS, water resistant, quartz, no date, on a steel expansion bracelet. It is the inexpensive kind of watch made for people who needed the time and nothing else. There are no model markings beyond the brand, so it stays at the brand.
