Mark Wahlberg wears an unidentified watch

Detective Terry Hoitz accidentally shot Derek Jeter during the World Series. That is the premise Mark Wahlberg has to sell in Adam McKay's The Other Guys (2010), and he does it by refusing to be funny. Hoitz is stuck on desk duty for his crime, paired with Will Ferrell's cheerful forensic accountant Allen Gamble, and Wahlberg plays the entire film as a man who is furious about everything and everyone. The comedy works because he is not winking at the audience. He means it.
