Mark Wahlberg plays Bob Lee Swagger, a Force Recon Marine Scout Sniper veteran framed for a presidential assassination, in Antoine Fuqua's Shooter (2007). The watch tied to him is a Suunto Vector, the Finnish outdoor instrument that in 1998 became the first watch with built-in altimeter, barometer, and compass functions. For a sniper that is not a gimmick: altitude changes air density, barometric pressure bends a long-range trajectory, and a compass bearing tells you where the wind is coming from, so a digital tool watch rather than a luxury mechanical is the realistic choice for the character. The identification is widely repeated but rests on weak sourcing, and no clear frame of the watch on Wahlberg's wrist has surfaced, so this sits at Possible rather than confirmed. It is still a satisfying outlier: a cheap lump of plastic and resin on an A-list lead, the opposite of the usual aspirational steel-sports-watch placement, and exactly right for a survivalist on the run.
