The camera gives the watch its own shot. Forty-seven meters down, against the black neoprene of a wetsuit sleeve with a shark blurred in the water behind, a steel watch on a fine-linked bracelet fills the frame, pale dial, slim hands, a printed 12 above baton markers. It belongs to Lisa, Mandy Moore's half of the two sisters in 47 Meters Down (2017), who are on vacation in Mexico after Lisa's boyfriend breaks up with her, and who accept a cage dive that goes wrong when the winch system snaps and drops the cage to the ocean floor, air running low, great whites circling. In the boat scene before the dive, the same watch sits plainly on Lisa's wrist as she is fitted into her scuba rig.
Nobody has ever identified it. This entry once called the watch a Skagen Signatur Sport, but no publication, aggregator, or even forum post backs that name, and the citation on file was Skagen's general catalog page, which says nothing about the film. The steel-link bracelet and clean minimalist dial are very much the Skagen look, which is probably where the guess came from, and the frames are not sharp enough to settle it. What the film does with the watch is clearer than what the watch is. The ending pulls the floor out twice: Lisa's escape is revealed as a hallucination brought on by nitrogen narcosis, and she is still at the bottom, her leg pinned under the cage, with Kate gone.
