Madchen Amick wears a Cartier Panthère de Cartier

The Courtyard, a 1995 Showtime thriller from Fred Walton, drops architect Jonathan into a Los Angeles apartment complex where a neighbor is murdered by mistake. Jonathan, played by Andrew McCarthy, was the intended target. Madchen Amick plays Lauren, a resident who draws close to him as he tries to work out who wanted him dead.

In the film's key art, a watch shows on Lauren's wrist where her hand rests on Jonathan's shoulder. It reads as a Cartier Panthere: a square case, a pale dial, and a flat metal link bracelet. No source documents the watch, and the brand never resolves clearly enough to be certain, but the squared case and the supple bracelet match the Panthere that Cartier launched in 1983, its case and band flowing together as one piece, with Roman numerals and a cabochon crown carried over from the older Tank.
