Luo Mi wears an unidentified watch

The camera tightens on Li Mo as he presses his daughter's face into his shoulder, shielding her, and a watch shows at his wrist where her cheek meets his sleeve. Luo Mi plays Li Mo, a widowed father hauling his girl through a country the plants have taken. The watch rides a plain olive nylon strap, and the case stays tucked under his jacket cuff, so the part that would name it never clears the fabric.

Lin Zhenzhao's 2021 film runs 89 minutes and spends them without much patience. A drug meant to replicate plant cells produces a sentient flower. The growth spreads and swallows whole cities, and humankind thins out beneath it. A Chinese task force carries an antidote for the core the plants grow from, the single point that turns the growth back. Reach the core, reset the world. The father and daughter survive alongside the soldiers, which is how a family drama ends up folded into a creature picture.

What the wrist gives up is a strap and a glint of steel, nothing a brand can hang on. No production note names it and no frame resolves the dial, so the watch stays unidentified. A film like this puts its money on the thing eating the city, not the thing on the actor's arm. The strap is olive nylon and the dial never clears his cuff.
