LL Cool J wears a Casio

Toys (1992) is one of the stranger films a major studio ever financed: a pastel fantasy from Barry Levinson about a whimsical toy company that a militarist uncle tries to turn into a weapons plant, with Robin Williams as the gentle heir who fights to stop him. LL Cool J plays Captain Patrick Zevo, the company security chief and cousin caught between the two, often in head-to-toe camouflage.

On his wrist is a black Casio. When Prop Store auctioned Captain Zevo's screen-used security kit, the badges and gear that went with the role, it cataloged a black Casio watch among the pieces. The catalog did not record a model, and the watch is hard to read in the film's firelit and low-light scenes, so the identification stays at the brand: a plain black Casio, the kind of digital tool watch that fit a man playing soldier inside a toy factory.
