Widows is Steve McQueen's 2018 film, adapted from Lynda La Plante's 1983 British series and moved to Chicago. Liam Neeson plays Harry Rawlins, a career thief who dies in the opening minutes when a heist goes wrong, which leaves his widow Veronica, played by Viola Davis, to finish his last job from the notebook of plans he left behind. Neeson is in the film mostly in flashbacks, and in one of them, holding Veronica, you can see the watch on his wrist: a steel chronograph with a dark dial and a leather strap.
What it is, exactly, the film never makes clear. No watch site has put a name to it, and the close-up never quite arrives. The best guess is a Hamilton. Neeson has worn Hamiltons in film after film, a Jazzmaster in Taken 2 and a Khaki Field in A Walk Among the Tombstones, and the dark-dialed dress watch on Harry Rawlins looks like it belongs to that run. But the brand is a deduction from habit and a blurry frame, not something the film confirms, so it stays a probable Hamilton rather than a certain one.
